The renowned Dutch shipyard Heesen Yachts has announced the launch of its latest motor yacht Project Castor also known as YN 19055. She is well on schedule and will be delivered in August.

Despite the current worldwide situation related to the Covid-19 pandemic, Heesen has managed to comply to the latest requirements of necessary physical distancing and protection according to guidelines imposed by the Dutch government and therefore continue with the construction with minimal disruption.
The owner’s representative, Rupert Connor from Luxury Yacht Group said: “We have been beyond impressed with how the Heesen team adapted to the COVID-19 pandemic. They have adjusted their working hours to increase social distancing yet retain optimal man-hours on our project and preserve an on-time, high-quality delivery which is no small feat in these challenging times.”

Project Castor is a striking voluminous luxury vessel of 760GT, offering exceptional spaces on board and accommodating up to 12 guests in 6 beautifully appointed staterooms. These include a large master suite situated forward on the main deck, four large guest suites (two doubles and two twins) which are situated on the lower deck and a lovely VIP stateroom on the bridge deck. She is the first in her class to provide this new layout configuration.

She is powered by two MTU 8V 4000 M63 Diesel engines, capable of reaching a top speed of 15.5 knots and expected to reach a 4,500 nautical-mile range at a cruising speed of 13 knots. This excellent performance is achieved thanks to the proven FDHP (Fast Displacement Hull Platform) devised by Van Oossanen. Project Castor provides excellent seakeeping characteristics and reduced fuel consumption when compared to any other yacht in her class.
Project Castor will now leave for her sea trials in the North Sea, following which the shipyard will continue working on the final stages of the construction, with delivery planned for August 2020.
